Tenure Track Faculty position available. Specialization in Program Evaluation (Assistant or Associate Professor) in the Department of Human Development & Family Studies, College of Education and Human Development, University of Delaware. A nine month faculty appointment (40% teaching, 60% program evaluation/research), with an additional 2 summer months devoted mostly to program evaluation/research. The faculty member will teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to program evaluation, education and/or positive youth development in the Department of Human Development & Family Studies. In conjunction with a joint appointment in the Delaware Education Research and Development Center, this faculty member will also conduct externally funded multidisciplinary program evaluation research, with a focus on education, human services, and/or positive youth development. Successful grant writing, both state and federal, is expected. Position begins 9/1/12.
The Department of Human Development & Family Studies is an interdisciplinary department that focuses on the study of critical social issues affecting education, families, and communities, along with teacher education and professional development in early childhood (www.hdfs.udel.edu). Delaware Education Research and Development Center conducts educational and human services program evaluation/research and policy analysis on topics of national importance (http://www.rdc.udel.edu). The College of Education and Human Development is dedicated to finding answers to the problems that confront our schools and to developing solutions to the challenges faced by children, youth and families around the world. The College includes the Department of Human Development and Family Studies, the School of Education, and several research Centers, including the Delaware Education Research and Development Center (www.cehd.udel.edu).
Qualifications: A Ph.D. or Ed.D. in program evaluation, human development, education, or a related field with extensive training in quantitative methods is required. Applicants must have significant experience with designing and carrying out evaluation studies of programs and policies, demonstrated success in attracting external funding for evaluations, and worked as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Candidates with an interest and/or experience in program evaluation research focusing on positive youth development and/or school based interventions are especially encouraged to apply.
