Project Specialist: LEND Cooperative Agreement

Description

The individual in this Project Specialist position will assist and carry out work under AUCD's federal contracts with HRSA's Maternal Child Health Bureau through the provision of project coordination, materials development, technical assistance, and information exchange and dissemination. The individual will provide support on a wide range of activities that furthers the mission and goals of members of the AUCD network.  This position will work under the supervision of the Director of MCH Technical Assistance.

Required Competencies

  • Demonstrated competence in working with individuals with disabilities and families 
  • Demonstrated cultural competence in working with individuals from diverse cultures and promoting the cultural competence of service systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with written and verbal communications
  • Proficiency in the use of the Internet for information exchange purposes, as well as in word processing, database, and spreadsheet software.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in carrying out duties of AUCD's federal contracts.
  • Assist AUCD staff in the development of materials, reports, and publications in collaboration with network members and staff at AUCD network centers.
  • Assist in maintaining up to date postings on AUCD's website.
  • Maintain effective communication with network members regarding technical assistance and initiatives.
  • Respond to requests for information from individuals with disabilities, family members, students, agencies, and community support/advocacy organizations, providing referral to AUCD network Centers as appropriate.
  • Provide support and information on a wide range of network activities that further the mission and goals of members of the AUCD network.

Required qualifications include:

  • Completion of a graduate program (MPH, MS, MSW, MA, etc.) in the social or health sciences (e.g., public health, public policy, psychology, social work, education, allied health), or
  • Bachelors Degree with 1-2 years of experience in human services.

 

Desired qualifications include:

  • Past experience working with federal and/or state agencies
  • Research, teaching, training, direct service, technical assistance or administrative support experience in a UCEDD and/or LEND
  • Completion of a LEND or UCEDD traineeship
