Project Manager - Digital Accessibility Project (DAP), University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA

The University of Virginia is seeking a Project Manager to manage and direct the University's Digital Accessibility Project (DAP).

The DAP was initiated at the direction of the Executive Committee on Digital Access, which is a Committee created by the Office of the President of the University and co-chaired by the ADA Coordinator and Associate Vice President of the Office for Equal Opportunity and Civil Rights (EOCR). The project's primary purpose is to facilitate a comprehensive assessment of the current level of accessibility of the University's digital footprint and to direct the implementation of tools and strategies to ensure an inclusive digital experience for individuals with disabilities.

This two-year term-limited position will manage the project currently underway and serve as the liaison between the contracted external consultant and the University. Reporting to the Associate Vice President - Equal Opportunity and Civil Rights Office (AVP-EOCR), with a dotted line to the Vice President for Information Technology, this individual will oversee day-to-day project planning and the implementation of strategies and tools in the current project scope. The incumbent will also serve as Chair of the DAP Workgroup, which is a key subcommittee of the Executive Committee for Digital Access.

In addition, the Project Manager will provide timely communication regarding the DAP to the various committees and members of the University community involved with the development and maintenance of the digital environment in the Academic Division, Medical Center, and College at Wise.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have strong project management skills coupled with a solid working knowledge of the current legal landscape with respect to disability law and standards that apply to the digital University environment, along with methods to assure greater accessibility and inclusiveness of the digital environment. A technical background with web development experience is highly desirable as is competency in the field of digital accessibility.

**This is a two-year term-limited position. The end date for the position will be based on start date.
