Director of Psychology and Behavioral Services
Salary Range: $6375.00 to $14541.67 Monthly

Responsibilities
The Psychologist serves as the MIND Institute Director of Psychological and Behavioral Services and is responsible for patient care and administration in the Massie Family Clinic, an outpatient health care clinic serving individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders. As a leader and clinical supervisor, the incumbent develops and implements systems for clinical care for the Massie Family Clinic, which assures a multi-disciplinary, comprehensive, and patient-oriented approach, and provides mentoring and training to clinical providers. The incumbent also participates in strategic planning and systems development to integrate the MIND Institute's Clinical and Research missions and to translate empirically based research into clinical service, working collaboratively with MIND Institute leadership, as well as faculty and administrators from the Departments of Pediatrics and Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The individual will conduct in-takes, diagnostic assessments, and treatment to individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders.

Qualifications
REQUIRED
• California Clinical Psychology License ( Current/Valid)
• Possession of Ph.D. degree in developmental or clinical psychology and licensed in the state of
  California as a Clinical Psychologist.
• Extensive experience administering psychological and diagnostic assessments (e.g., the Autism
  Diagnostic Observation Schedule, 2nd edition) to individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other 
  neurodevelopmental disorders, evaluating and interpreting results, developing and making treatment,
  case plan and case disposition recommendations, and providing treatment.
• Extensive knowledge of the psychiatric, behavioral, and developmental diagnoses, as described in the
  DSM-5, in addition to neuropsychological characteristics of autism and other neurodevelopmental
  disorders and the current research in these areas.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of individual, child, and family development; human behaviors
  and communication; the influence of culture and values in clinical practice, case management.
• Knowledge of clinical research methodology, design, statistical tests, computer software, and clinical
  interpretation of data results.
• Excellent writing, verbal and planning skills, especially the ability to write clear, concise reports.

PREFERRED
• Demonstrated effective leadership skills with experience as a supervisor and/or administrator.
• Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills. Ability to work diplomatically with a
  wide variety of people.
• Ability to communicate, interact with children and their caregivers, other staff members, county social
  workers, and representatives of county and community agencies.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner (e.g., assigned strategic projects, clinical reports, research 
  summaries, staff evaluations); and ability to be flexible and complete priorities. 
• Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to establish rapport and maintain working 
  relationships with staff, faculty, executive leadership, patients, parents, and community members.
