Associate Director - Partnership for People with Disabilities, A University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, Virginia Commonwealth University

The Partnership for People with Disabilities, Virginia's UCEDD at VCU is currently recruiting for an Associate Director. Charged with conducting interdisciplinary pre-service and community training, continuing education, direct service, research and evaluation, policy, and dissemination, the Partnership implements these mandates across four content areas: community living, early intervention/early childhood, education, and health. With approximately 100 employees, we manage between 35 and 40 projects, funded through federal, state, and other sources. The Partnership is administratively situated in VCU's School of Education.

This Associate Director will assist the Executive Director with all programmatic requirements of the organization's core funding and project funding. This position also oversees training, technical assistance, and direct service functions. The Associate Director will collaborate with the Associate Director of Research to oversee program development, data collection, and report writing for the organization. The position is a non-tenure track, grant-funded faculty position.

Required qualifications: 1) earned doctorate in a discipline that addresses needs of individuals with disabilities of all ages (e.g., education/special education and related services, rehabilitation counseling, nursing, psychology, social work, public health public policy, etc.); 2) working knowledge of disability services at all ages; 3) significant experience in collaborating with people with disabilities, family members, advocacy and provider groups, agencies; 4) minimum of five years leadership team experience with a diverse group; 5) minimum of 5 years of experience developing and managing programs, grants, and/or contracts and budgets; 6) record of successful grant proposal submission and professional refereed publications; 7) demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.

Preferred qualifications: 1) experience working in the UCEDD/LEND network or other developmental disabilities networks; and 2) work experience with state or local governmental or non-governmental organizations. Applicants should be good communicators, have excellent supervisory and leadership/team building skills, be diplomatic in interactions, be able to work in fast-paced environments with issues requiring time sensitive responses and multi-tasking, and be highly productive.
