Director of Communication Sciences and Disorders - Kennedy Krieger Institute

The Kennedy Krieger Institute invite applications for a mid-career faculty member with expertise in the field of pediatric communication sciences related to children with developmental and acquired neurological disorders. This position will offer extensive opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and a faculty appointment at Johns Hopkins University.

The Kennedy Krieger Institute is dedicated to helping children and adolescents with developmental and acquired disorders and serves over 20,000 patients annually. It is a research, clinical, and educational institute with a dynamic and interdisciplinary team of professionals. Faculty members at Kennedy Krieger hold academic appointments at many different departments at Johns Hopkins University and are international leaders in their respective fields. The Institute has a strong interdisciplinary focus and interdisciplinary research opportunities are plentiful both at Kennedy Krieger and with Johns Hopkins.

The Institute has over 80 Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists who work in various settings/programs including: an in-patient rehabilitation hospital, outpatient clinics including assistive technology, day and home and community based rehabilitation programs, home and center based early intervention programs, a comprehensive autism center, and special education day school programs. The program also has a very strong, nationally recognized training program in speech-language pathology and trains 5-10 clinical fellows annually.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of extramural funding, peer-reviewed publications, experience in program development and be eligible for licensure as a clinician in speech/language pathology or audiology. We expect that this individual will be appointed as faculty at Johns Hopkins University in their relevant department. The academic rank of this position will be commensurate with prior scholarly achievements.
