Job Description   Seeking a talented clinician to join an interdisciplinary team to work within a stimulating academic environment. Provide direct clinical services and participate in clinical activities and training of students within the Genetics and Metabolism Program Area of the Waisman Center Clinics. The Genetics and Metabolism Program provides comprehensive assessment and follow-up services for children with, or at risk for, developmental delays, due to genetic conditions. Assessments are provided by an interdisciplinary team of specialists who work closely with families to provide comprehensive and integrated evaluations and follow-up over time. The team of professionals includes specialties in genetics, genetic counseling, developmental pediatrics, nursing, and nutrition. These clinical services are provided in partnership between the Waisman Center at UW-Madison, and the UW Health AFCH (American Family Children's Hospital).

This position will provide services at multiple clinics located at the Waisman Center, 1500 Highland Avenue, Madison, WI and at University Station, located at 2880 University Avenue, Madison, WI.

Qualifications   Master's degree in genetics counseling from an accredited Genetic Counseling Program is required. One year of post-graduate experience in clinical genetics and/or medical/patient care counseling preferred. Prior experience working in a genetics counseling setting is preferred. Prefix determination will be based on years of relevant work experience. A minimum of 7 years' experience is needed for appointment at the senior level. Experience in neurodevelopmental disability, biochemical genetics, and/or pediatric genetics clinics preferred.

Licensure/Certification:   Certification as a Certified Genetic Counselor (CGC) from American Board of Genetic Counseling Certification is preferred. Applicants must have Active Candidate status and must obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
