Position Summary
The Administrative Director of Brain Injury Service provides leadership for the Brain Injury (BI) Division, ensuring high-quality service delivery, effective operations, and continued growth. The BI Division currently includes three Transitional Living Program sites, six BI waiver homes, Tewksbury Hospital, and Day/Ancillary Services. In the next three years, the BI Division will open new sites and double the number of individuals served through its programs. The Administrative Director will report to the Vice President of Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and Brian Injury Services, manage a team that includes Clinical Program Director and Service Line Directors, and collaborate with staff across other functional areas, external partners, and funders. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator and leader to join a highly-regarded organization and drive the BI Division's continued quality and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee service delivery across the BI Division, ensuring that all individuals are treated with dignity and respect and all programs uphold high standards of clinical integrity
- Participate in program level-strategic planning and guide the implementation of the BI Division's growth strategy through effective collaboration with colleagues throughout the agency
- Ensure effective and efficient processes within the BI Division through partnership and consultation with other functions such as Quality and Risk Management, Fiscal, Human Resources, Information Services, Housing, and Maintenance
- Drive activities to keep the BI Division in compliance with licensing and regulatory standards and Advocates' policies and procedures
- Develop and manage the BI Division budget (currently ~$10M); contribute to the growth of the budget by drafting responses to RFRs and grant opportunities
- Organize staff across the BI Division to provide appropriate and efficient services; provide ongoing training for direct reports and empower those leaders to guide staff development efforts among their teams
- Represent the BI Division in external-facing relationships with stakeholders including state agencies, service providers, community resources, and families and guardians
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in administrative leadership roles in nonprofit and/or human service settings, with prior experience in managing across geographic sites, including responsibility for overseeing operations and compliance, budgets, and staff
- Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster trusting and collaborative partnerships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Strong staff management skills, with the ability to drive high levels of performance, engagement, and accountability across a diverse team
- Familiarity with state and federal agencies (e.g. MassHealth, MA Department of Developmental Services, MA Rehabilitation Commission); prior experience in MA considered helpful but not required
- Demonstrated competence in serving culturally diverse populations and sensitivity to the needs the individuals whom Advocates serves
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) and computer skills
- Experience in government and/or foundation grantwriting preferred
- Prior experience with the field of Brian Injury preferred, but not required
- Must hold a valid drivers' license and have access to an automobile to travel between sites
- Master's degree strongly preferred
