Specialist, UCEDD Technical Assistance
Posted: Tuesday, November 29, 2016AUCD is seeking a Technical Assistance (TA) Specialist to support activities of the UCEDD Resource Center in support of the national network of federally-funded University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service (UCEDD). This position reports directly to the Senior Manager of UCEDD Technical Assistance, while also working with staff from multiple teams.
AUCD promotes and supports a national network of interdisciplinary centers on disabilities. Its member centers represent every US state and territory and include 67 University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD), 52 Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Programs and 15 Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Centers (IDDRC). Together, these organizations advance policy and practice through research, education, leadership, and services for and with individuals with developmental and other disabilities, their families and communities, in support of independence, productivity, and satisfying quality of life.

Job Responsibilities
Meeting Planning
• Coordinate meeting planning committees, including recruiting members, scheduling and facilitating virtual meetings, taking notes and meeting minutes, developing iterative drafts of meeting agendas
• Write web content for outreach, meeting information, registration, and archived materials
• Coordinate with Operations team to plan and implement hotel logistics to meet meeting purpose and participant needs, including accessibility
• Assist in planning and facilitation of training and TA webinars
Materials Development
• Draft materials for trainings, meetings, webinars, and other events
• Write and edit training and technical assistance products and reports
• Develop reports in response to requests for information
• Ensure all materials developed are accessible and culturally & linguistically competent
• Update Diversity & Inclusion Toolkit websites
• Create data entry forms in Microsoft Word for annual updates to National Information Reporting System (NIRS)
Research and Evaluation
• Conduct relevant research for responding to requests for information
• Develop surveys to evaluate training and technical assistance activities
Administrative
• Support subcontracting tasks including communication, invoicing, and tracking activities
• Participate in AUCD staff committees as appropriate
• Other duties as assigned
Outreach and Engagement
• Solicit information, exemplary practices, and relevant resources from AUCD network members and other stakeholders as needed
• Coordinate committees and workgroups in collaboration with lead staff, including scheduling meetings, taking notes, and tracking activities and outcomes
• Manage assigned listservs
• Develop communications plan for project activities, in collaboration with Director of Marketing and Public Engagement and communications team
• Provide staff support to an AUCD Council and/or Special Interest Group
• Participate in external relevant Boards or committees
Qualifications
Required
• Exemplary writing skills for various materials (websites, reports, outreach materials, training materials, meeting minutes, etc.)
• Excellent communications skills
• Proficiency in online tools including online survey and scheduling tools, listserv management, content management system, and meeting management tools
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite tools, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
• Organization, prioritization, and multi-tasking
• Experience working in fast-paced office environment
• Experience working with people of various cultural backgrounds
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
Desired
• Personal or professional experience with disabilities
• Training or work experience in a UCEDD
