The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Department of Psychiatry is seeking an outstanding full-time attending psychiatrist to work with the Consultation-Liaison (C/L) team and in the Kenneth Z. Altshuler inpatient psychiatry unit, both of which are located at Zale-Lipshy University Hospital. This service is committed to providing comprehensive mental health services to adult medical/surgical patients in collaboration with other services at Zale. This assignment will include inpatient psychiatric care and consult-liaison service and may include inpatient and/or outpatient ECT performed on the patient unit as well as the pre-ECT/post-ECT evaluations in a nearby ambulatory clinic. This position may also include some academic tasks including the participation in relevant meetings, trainings and committees, supervising of medical students and/or graduating students and medical student and residency program or course development. The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical, teaching skills, and interpersonal skills.
