Job Description   Serve as a member of a collegial, team-based interdisciplinary (ID) pediatric specialty clinic to assist with planning of clinic visits; review records and preparations for ID or discipline-only patients; collaborate in interdisciplinary evaluations when indicated; perform evaluations of relevant developmental skills (e.g. early developmental assessments, upper extremity and fine motor control, perceptual, adaptive skills, sensory processing); adaptive equipment needs, and screen for gross motor, sensory and vision concerns; provide consultation and technical assistance to families and community service providers based on findings; serve as a member of a new, innovative transdisciplinary Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) treatment services team. Additionally, train UCEDD trainees as needed through clinical activities; assist in the preparation of grant and contract applications; and explore opportunities to participate in Center-based research initiatives.

Qualifications  A masters' degree in Occupational Therapy or related field is required. A PhD in Occupational Therapy is desirable. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Wisconsin as an occupational therapist. Two years of experience with children with developmental disabilities, including ASD, is required At least 3 years of experience in providing pediatric occupational therapy services is required. Well-qualified applicants will have the following preferred experience: prior experience working in an academic setting; experience working in an interdisciplinary setting; experience working with children with severe disabilities, with motor and sensory delays; and experience incorporating visual supports, low tech communication strategies, and/or assistive technology.
