The Center for Elementary Mathematics and Science Education (CEMSE) is a Research and Development Center that resides within the Physical Sciences Division of the University of Chicago. CEMSE continues the University of Chicago's long-standing commitment to improving pre-college education and aims to support high quality mathematics and science instruction and learning for all students. CEMSE is currently seeking to fill a Financial Literacy Curriculum Specialist position.

Job Summary:  The Financial Literacy Curriculum Specialist will work with a team at The Center for Elementary Mathematics and Science Education (CEMSE) to write and revise high school financial literacy instructional materials. The qualified candidate will be knowledgeable in microeconomics, finance, banking, entrepreneurship, business, and related fields. The Financial Literacy Curriculum Specialist will provide expertise on technical content and instructional design in the planning and development of a high school financial literacy curriculum and associated teacher and school supports. The candidate will have a deep understanding of financial literacy content knowledge and how it applies to teaching; will assist in developing a teacher-facing financial literacy online course; develop training materials and evaluate existing materials for content accuracy; refine student-facing lessons based on feedback from the field; analyze and interpret research on financial literacy empowerment for youth; and participate in professional meetings to discuss research and writing goals and implementation strategies.
