Position Summary:
WIHD is currently recruiting for full-time licensed Psychologist as Director of WIHD's Behavioral Psychology Program. The Director will oversee clinical, training and research activities of the program and will serve as project director for WIHD's Regional Center on Autism. Key functions of the Director include supervision of program staff; community outreach on clinical services and training for parents and professionals; develop and implementation of marketing of program services; and networking concerning grant-funded research and related activities. The Director will represent WIHD at the local and state level concerning behavioral services and supports and training of related professionals.
Other areas of responsibility include:
- Provide behavioral analytic and behavioral psychology services to adults and children with intellectual/developmental disabilities, including autism, who have challenging behaviors and/or skill deficits with the goals of decreasing the challenging behavior, increasing appropriate/adaptive behavior and improving skills. This will include comprehensive behavior assessments (e.g., functional behavior assessments) for the purpose of developing and implementing effective behavioral interventions.
- Supervise staff providing such services.
- Supervise post-doctoral psychology fellows assigned to the Behavioral Psychology Program.
- Provide, and supervise Program staff in providing, training for parents and professionals concerning implementation of interventions at home and at school.
- Maintain strong linkages with local school districts and manage contracts with districts to provide outpatient assessments and services for students who have challenging behaviors; expand the linkages and contracts.
- Oversee continuous quality improvement of the Behavioral Psychology Program.
- Provide leadership in research-related activities within the Program through: establishing research collaborations within WIHD and externally; assuring adherence to IRB protocols and HIPAA regulations to assure protection of human subjects; and disseminating the results of research through publications and presentations.
- Serve as Project Director for WIHD's contract with the NYS Department of Education as a Regional Center on Autism.
Requirements:
- Advanced knowledge of applied behavior analysis, functional behavior assessment, staff management, and program management.
- Type and Length of Experience: 10 years of clinical experience in an outpatient behavioral program; management experience and experience supervising program staff.
- Education: License and PhD. in Psychology
