Title:  Intellectual Developmental Disability Professionals to Administer Assessments

Location: Mississippi

This is a wonderful opportunity to work independently while providing a valuable service to the citizens of Mississippi!!!

Ascend Management Innovations, a MAXIMUS company and a national leader in specialized evaluation services, is recruiting professionals to administer functional assessments on a contractual basis for people diagnosed with an intellectual and/or developmental disability.

The primary function of this independent contractor position will be to use the ICAP assessment tool to conduct face-to-face assessment interviews with a specified number of respondents for the purpose of developing a thorough, detailed, functional assessment for each person receiving ID/DD Waiver services and those who have been approved for enrollment.

We are currently accepting resumes from qualified candidates who would like to be considered for this contract work opportunity. Each clinician will be assigned a specific territory to cover and is reimbursed per completed assessment. A comprehensive paid training is provided along with continued additional support.

Areas available are:

  • Starkville and surrounding communities
  • Oxford and surrounding communities
  • Tupelo and surrounding communities

Job Requirements:

Applicant must:

  • Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree
  • Have 3 years proven experience in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Be person-first centered
  • Excel at interviewing and gathering information
  • Have excellent writing skills
  • Be quality driven and have an eye for detail
  • Have day time availability - You must be able to commit to completing at least 5 assessments a week which typically will take approximately 12 business hours. Please note that you are not limited to 5 and it is possible to administer as many as 15 assessments a week.

Behavioral Health experience is helpful however Ascend cannot consider candidates who do not have a minimum of 3 years' experience working directly in the field of Intellectual Disabilities (ID), Developmental Disabilities (DD), or Related Conditions (RC). Examples of these disabilities may include Down syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Cerebral Palsy etc. If your experience with this population is not clearly stated on your resume, please include a cover letter detailing your experience.
