Description:  The University of Minnesota LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities) Program is an interdisciplinary leadership training program spanning 13 disciplines across the University of Minnesota and is funded by the Maternal Child Health Bureau (MCHB) of the US Department of Health and Human Services. MN LEND fellows are graduate or postgraduate students, or community members selected for outstanding skills and commitment to improving the quality of life for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and their families.

The MN LEND post doctoral fellow will be a full-time 12 month position July 1, 2016-June 30, 2017.

Responsibilities include conducting research and/or clinical experience in the area of neurodevelopmental disabilities. The MN LEND post doctoral fellow will have the opportunity to collaborate with MN LEND faculty on research that adheres to the values, mission, and purpose of the MN LEND program. Fellows are expected to reach out to and collaborate with established UMN programs and integrate research activities within the parameters of existing activities. Fellows may also be expected to assist with grant applications and reports for existing programs and to collaborate on the pursuit of additional external funds to support ongoing and future research efforts. The MN LEND post doctoral fellow will also participate in leadership activities, publications, and presentations at local and national events.

Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience):  Successful applicants must have completed their doctoral degree from an accredited institution with appropriate experience and training related to neurodevelopmental disabilities prior to the start date for the position. The MN LEND program supports these disciplines for post doctoral fellowships: Special Education/Educational Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Hearing Sciences, Neuropsychology, Public Health, Genetic Counseling, Pediatric Dentistry, Nutrition, Audiology, Pediatrics, Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics, and the Pediatric Nursing Practitioner discipline. Successful past applicants had often pre-arranged research connections in respective UMN LEND departments.
