Children's Hospital Colorado - Developmental Pediatrics is pleased to offer a psychology postdoctoral fellowship training program which emphasizes working collaboratively with medical professionals in a busy hospital setting. Evidence-based outpatient interventions and psychological assessments are at the core of the experience, with a compliment of didactics and research. Fellows work with a wide range of complex neurodevelopmental conditions within a pediatric setting. Autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities and genetic disorders are the primary patient populations. Experiences include comprehensive psychology assessments, individual treatment, group treatment, parent groups, didactics, and research. Certifications in Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2) are offered. The training program is designed to match the individual fellow's training goals with a tailored program meant to balance clinical, didactic, and research experiences. The training includes coursework with The Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) Program which provides a comprehensive curriculum addressing practice and policies related to children with disabilities. The Developmental Pediatrics fellow works within a vibrant pediatric clinical setting serving Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region with a collaborative team of developmental pediatricians, psychologists, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other allied health professionals. Comprehensive supervision is provided by a faculty of experienced, senior licensed psychologists. Fellows have the opportunity to work with a cohort of trainees from other disciplines as well, including medical students, developmental-behavioral pediatric fellows; child neurology, child psychiatry and pediatric residents. Upon completion of training, the fellow will have developed advanced competencies in the assessment and management of children with a broad range of genetic, developmental and behavioral conditions. State of the art facilities for clinical care are provided within the Child Development Unit on the Anschutz medical campus and at Children's Hospital Colorado's Network of Care locations.
