Position: The Department of Special Education at Minot State University invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidates should possess expertise in one or more of the following areas: early childhood special education, low incidence disabilities, high incidence disabilities, intellectual disabilities, secondary transition, autism, educational assessment, assistive technology, Deaf Education and American Sign Language, and/or educational psychology.
Qualifications: An earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) is required though ABD may be considered in some circumstances. Successful experience in full-time teaching or relevant experience in K-12 schools that includes students with disabilities is required. Expertise in assessment and evidence-based interventions as well as the demonstrated ability to teach university level courses related to students with exceptional learning needs is necessary. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a strong potential for scholarly activity.
Roles and Responsibilities: Successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate special education courses leading to teacher certification and supervise thesis research projects. Additional responsibilities include student advisement, department, school, and university service, practicum and internship supervision, and scholarship. We seek someone who will enthusiastically participate in undergraduate education and a strong presence on the campus will be an expectation of the individual hired.
