Position Description Overview
This position is expected to lead and manage the Waisman Center Early Childhood Professional Development Program (ECPD), and serve as Principal Investigator and content expert for multiple early childhood grants and contracts; with responsibility for leading the projects, supervising staff, negotiating contract and grant agreements, allocating and managing funds, and accountability for project outcomes and deliverables, including completion of project reports. This position will also negotiate collaborative relationships with private and public agencies at the national, state and local levels and is responsible for developing, negotiating and monitoring the budgets in accordance with university policies. Degree and area of specialization:

  • Master's Degree required, preferably in early childhood special education, early childhood education, psychology or other related fields.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

  • More than 6 years of experience required and at least 10 years' experience preferred in two or more settings related to early childhood, including but not limited to Early Childhood Special Education, Child Care, Head Start, Home Visiting Birth to 3 Programs, Family Services, Higher Education or other closely related early childhood focus.
  • At least 5 years' experience required in leadership positions involving collaborative effort to accomplish project goals and objectives, personnel management, and grants management.
  • Knowledge and experience implementing and developing early childhood professional development models and trainings highly preferred.
