Description:

The Manager of Web Systemsworks collaboratively with the 23 departments within the Finance division to develop, implement, and manage their web communication strategies as part of a larger communication program supporting AU's strategic institutional and marketing goals. This position provides leadership and technical guidance to departments for the development and maintenance of their websites, intranet/portal applications and other web products to ensure ease of use and accuracy of both content and links. This position provides guidance and technical expertise to OFT senior management, directors, and other staff on the web communication elements of new OFT projects. This position represents the Finance Division on university wide cross-functional teams.


Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in experience and training

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum four (4)years related work experience with web content development
  • Demonstrated proficiency with tools used for electronic communication, web design, and web development , especially experience with HTML, Content Management Systems (AU uses Commonspot), Adobe CS (primarily Photoshop), Adobe Acrobat Professional, and Sharepoint
  • Demonstrated proficiency managing multiple projects while providing a uniformly high level of service to each project "client"
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with university staff at all levels and with varying degrees of technical proficiency and writing and editing for a diverse audience
  • Must have experience or interest in working in academia, be highly organized and a team player, able to work with minimal supervision on high-visibility projects, handle multiple tasks, and react to shifting deadlines

Preferred Requirements:

  • An understanding of strategic communication principles and advertising/marketing principles (particularly those related to web communication), user experience/user interface (UX/UI) principles, and experience in graphic design are preferred.
  • Experience training others or designing teaching materials, particularly related to computers or software, is preferred.
