Doctoral Leadership Program in Early Childhood Intervention - University of Connecticut Neag School of Education, A.J. Pappanikou Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD)

The University of Connecticut Neag School of Education and the AJ Pappanikou Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) is currently seeking qualified doctoral students for the Doctoral Leadership Program in Early Childhood Intervention.

This program is funded through the Office of Special Education Programs, US Department of Education. The three year specialization includes:

  • Interdisciplinary Training - Partnerships with other schools and departments within UConn
  • Competency-Based Curricula - Emphasizing the research base for early childhood intervention for infants, toddlers and preschoolers with disabilities and their families
  • Emphasis Areas - Personnel preparation, research, scholarship, policy application, and community engagement
  • Program Components - Doctoral coursework, interdisciplinary seminars, supervised internships, supervised and individual research opportunities, and individual mentorship
  • Internships in Federally Funded Centers - Research, training, and technical assistance centers, including the Connecticut UCEDD, Early Childhood Personnel Center (ECPC), Center for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and the Center for Behavioral Educational and Research (CBER)


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Early Childhood Special Education, Special Education, Early
                                       Childhood, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in early childhood intervention.


Funding for eligible full time students who are U.S. citizens is available, including tuition assistance and graduate assistant awards.
