POSITION SUMMARY:
This position manages (plans, conducts, coordinates, monitors, evaluates, and exercises direct supervision over) a variety of technical assistance, training, and service activities for agencies and families within the CARD (Center for Autism and Related Disabilities) 14 county region.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Public contact - provides consultation to individuals with autism and related disabilities and their families, professionals and support personnel; provide training to the public; provide awareness activities and materials to the public; present at conferences. Coordination and organization- Coordinate all activities for the branch office in Highlands County; organize, participate in or facilitate meetings, events and activities for individuals, families, schools, businesses and schools.
Program direction and development - designs, develops, coordinates and conducts training and consultation to families, schools and community service agencies and monitors, documents and evaluates the results of these activities. Supervision - may oversees CARD staff.
Policy-making and/or interpretation - plans, drafts and recommends to the director new and revised policies and procedures related to CARD's activities. Respond to families' and professionals' requests for written information and readings related to autism and related topics; gather information for and assists with preparation of quarterly report data.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications: Each position assigned to this classification must require specific training at the Bachelor's degree or Master's degree level in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or other field appropriate to the program content. Bachelor's degree candidates must have at least two years of applicable experience. The Master's degree may substitute for the required experience. Specific certifications or licensures may be required or preferred for certain program areas.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree level in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or other field appropriate to the program content. Two years direct experience working with individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and their families. One year experience in program development and administration.
