Primary Purpose/Nature of WorkSupport DCPS teachers of Intellectually Disabled and Autistic classrooms to complete Community-Based Instruction experiences that enhance classroom learning focused on the Independent Living Skills curriculum, so students are empowered with the skills to live productive and independent lives.

Essential Job FunctionsAssist with the coordination and logistics for Community Based Instruction experiences for each designated school, including documentation management, finance management, and reporting management.

Assist with Professional Development workshops for DCPS teachers and support staff.

Assist with the coordination and logistics of summer youth employment for work-ready students.


Essential Job Requirements

• Experience working with intellectually and developmentally disabled individuals highly desired.
• Experience developing and/or leading group events.
• Experience managing projects.
• Experience with document creation and report writing.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Flexible and can adjust to a varied schedule.
• Detail oriented, organized, creative, and self-driven.
• Negative TB test, less than 1 year old, or ability to obtain one required.
• College degree preferred.
• Familiarity with transition services and budget management preferred.
