The Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Social Work is seeking a faculty colleague who can enhance the diversity and expertise of the Department and make a unique contribution to our programs through their clinical social work experience with individuals and families. The BSSW Program has been CSWE accredited since 1974; the MSW Program has been accredited since 2010. This position is primarily assigned to teach in the MSW Program that is offered fall, spring and summer sessions on Thursday evenings, Fridays, and Saturdays.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
MSW degree from an accredited social work program.
Earned doctorate or ABD in social work or related area with doctorate to be completed by August 2016.
Two years post MSW direct clinical experience within the last five years.
LICSW or eligible for independent, clinical social work licensing in Minnesota.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Documented experience in effective teaching at the college level.
Practice experience with children, adolescents and families or in child welfare or in school social work
Experience with or commitment to rural social work practice.
Evidence of research, scholarship, and/or publication.
Evidence of ability to contribute to the growth and development of students.
Skills in using educational technologies for classroom and online education.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Evidence of commitment to diversity and to enhancing cultural diversity in social work education.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach primarily in the MSW Program.
Engage in scholarly activities, continuing study, and professional development.
Contribute to the growth and development of students.
Contribute to program and curriculum development.
Participate in Social Work Department activities.
Provide service to the university and community.
