Associate Director - University of Cincinnati (UC) and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC)

The Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (DDBP) at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) is seeking an Associate Director for the University of Cincinnati University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UC UCEDD).  This will be an opportunity to pursue a career in a state-of-the-art health care facility in a vibrant academic environment under the direction of Ilka Riddle, Director of the UC UCEDD in the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics.

The ideal scholarly candidate should be an accomplished health, education or early childhood professions leader and manager with a PhD or similar degree, who is eligible for a faculty rank of Assistant Professor and who will work successfully with the UCEDD faculty and staff and with partner organizations to meet identified needs for training, education, advocacy, policy development, research, technical assistance, and information dissemination.  The successful candidate will have a track record of successfully competing for funding of such activities and of managing grant-funded projects.  In addition, the candidate will have demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships at the local, state, and national level in working on issues of importance to people with developmental disabilities and their families.

The Associate Director of the UCEDD will join a young and dynamic team of faculty and staff within a division of approximately 150 professionals of multiple disciplines.   Working under the direction of the UCEDD Director, the Associate Director will be responsible for managing educational, research, evaluation, and administrative aspects of the UCEDD, including a key role in implementing and supervising project activities in support of goals and objectives of the UCEDD and evaluation of their outcomes.  The successful candidate will also:  pursue his/her own research agenda; manage community education and collaboration efforts  of the UCEDD ; successfully compete for funding at the state and national level for projects that help the UCEDD to meet its goals; work with the UCEDD Community Advisory Committee ; develop and strengthen relationships with departments and faculty of the University of Cincinnati; develop and foster collaborations with organizations and agencies in the local community, regional area (tri-state area: OH, KY, IN), and at the state and national levels;  assess the needs of people with ID/DD, their families, and systems that serve them; foster systems change; conduct research and provide community education, technical assistance, and continuing professional education; participate at the national level as a member of the AUCD; attend and conduct presentations at state and national  conferences;  strengthen recruitment and collaboration efforts targeted at inclusion of people with developmental disabilities and their families and people from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds ; and oversee dissemination efforts of  the UCEDD.
