Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Assistant Professor - Institute on Development and Disability (IDD), Oregon Health & Science University

The components of this full-time position include:

Clinical Service (60%): The SLP in this position participates in IDD's interdisciplinary clinics, serving children with complex medical and developmental needs (e.g., autism, feeding & swallowing, prematurity, congenital heart disease). The SLP is responsible for evaluation/management, team collaboration, and provision of family centered care.

Teaching & Research (20%): The SLP in this position participates in clinical education of practicum students, interns, and fellows completing both graduate training and LEND fellowships. The incumbent also engages in research appropriate to Speech-Language Pathology and cooperates in joint research projects with other faculty. The SLP in this position is expected to contribute to population-based research and evidence-based research and to disseminate the products of the research through professional publications and presentations.

Professional/Academic/Other Activities (20%): The SLP in this position participates in other activities appropriate to the discipline, and consistent with the mission and goals of IDD and OHSU. Such activities include, but are not limited to, clinical documentation, consultation and technical assistance to families, community agencies and providers, serving on agency and university committees, and participation in departmental meetings and in-service presentations.

Required:

  • Minimum of a master's degree in SLP
  • Minimum of 5 years pediatric clinical experience serving children with complex medical and developmental conditions
  • Demonstrated experience working on interdisciplinary teams, engaging in clinical education, and utilizing a family-centered model of care
  • Current CCC/SLP and hold or be eligible for Oregon SLP licensure

Preferred:

  • Doctoral degree
  • Specific interest in children with autism and feeding & swallowing issues, as well as infants/toddlers who have a history of prematurity and/or congenital heart disease
