Position Announcement
First In Families of North Carolina (FIFNC) is an innovative, community-based not-forprofit providing flexible family support throughout NC for individuals with Intellectual/Developmental disabilities or Traumatic Brain Injury. Its mission is to help people believe in their dreams, achieve their goals, and give back to others. FIFNC seeks a Family Support Director, based in Durham, NC to direct the Durham and Central Carolina First In Families Chapters, oversee Lifeline Project, and also participate in Systems Change efforts and special projects including grassroots (new Chapter) development. Ideal candidates will understand: the value of family support from both a policy and personal perspective, self-determination, formal vs. informal supports, and current NC and/or federal policies and politics related to supporting people with I/DD. Ideal candidates will have experience in project management, budgets, supervision, public speaking, community organizing and grassroots fundraising. An interest in nonprofit management, personal experience with people with disabilities, and an extroverted personality are pluses. This position is full-time but could be less for the right individual. Benefits are excellent. Salary range is: $36-44.5K. FIFNC is an equal opportunity employer.
