Position Overview: Under the direction of the Vice President, Government Relations, secure government funding via legislative appropriations and competitive grants in assigned states.

Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
Preparation for and follow up to Federal Efforts
- Assist in preparation of proposals and other documents for federal allocation requests
- Assist in the coordination of all meetings with the Vice President of Government Relations and members of Congress and/or their staff when appropriate
- Submit and record necessary follow-up including, but not limited to, letter and email correspondence, emails and phone calls to elected officials and staff members
- Manage Federal competitive grant applications, including serving as the staff contact for SAM and grants.gov
- Assist in the completion of necessary paperwork required to secure funding
- Assist in the preparation of interim and annual reports for federal funds
- Monitor goals set by the Vice President to secure funding
- Assist in the planning and organizing of annual Capitol Hill Day event
Preparation for and follow up to State/Municipal Lobbying Efforts
- Assist in the coordination of state/municipal lobbying efforts with State Directors and lobbyists
- Help coordinate and assist with all follow through efforts necessary to secure funding including assisting State Directors with the creation of proposals
- Review and assist with funding reports for state and local funds
- Assistance in providing State Directors with the necessary resource information to secure funding on the county level.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist the Vice President in the Coordination of stewardship efforts for key officials
- Execute stewardship tasks for key government contacts, including managing the process of annual Good News letters
- Oversee the entry of government relations information into Raiser's Edge
- Ensure that all state government histories are updated annually
- Research and pursue funding opportunities in states without a Best Buddies office
- Additional duties and projects as assigned
- Assist in all government-related aspects of National events
Reports To: Vice President, Government Relations
Salary: $45,000 to $55,000
