Commonwealth Fund Report on Developmental Surveillance and Screening in Primary Care

The Commonwealth Fund has published a report entitled Developmental Screening in Primary Care: The Effectiveness of Current Practice and Recommendations for Improvement, which finds that developmental delays in early childhood are significantly under-identified by primary care providers. The author suggests that financial, educational, and other barriers to physicians' use of developmental screening tools need to be addressed.
