AUCD Awarded New CDC Cooperative Agreement

December 10, 2013

The Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) was recently awarded a new cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to collaborate on "Learn the Signs. Act Early." initiatives. AUCD will be working with the CDC, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs (AMCHP) to provide TA for Act Early Network (AEN) activities.

The AEN is based on the "Learn the Signs. Act Early." program, which provides materials and strategies to monitor development and act when there are concerns. It is comprised of 1) the Act Early State Systems Grants, 2) the Act Early Ambassadors and 3) the Act Early Forum, which consists of an email listerv, quarterly webinars, a resource sharing site and an Act Early newsletter. In the upcoming months, watch for announcements about the next quarterly webinar, publication of the newsletter and a funding announcement for a new cohort of Ambassadors who will work as liaisons to the "Learn the Signs. Act Early." program.  AUCD Awarded New Cooperative Agreement
