Clinicians and researchers from Boston Children's Hospital's Down Syndrome Program and LEND program presented research findings and program descriptions of best practices in Denver at the annual meeting of the National Down Syndrome Congress. As noted on the DSP webpage: Perched a Mile High in Denver, over 100 health care professionals gathered for the 2013 Down Syndrome Medical Interest Group's Annual Symposium on Friday July 19th. We heard presentations about sleep apnea, Down syndrome and autism, regression in Down syndrome, and more. In fact, we were treated to 22 posters highlighting work that is being done by our colleagues. It was a very educational meeting filled with networking.

Presentations included a poster: Accurate Clinical Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder in Children and Adolescents with Down Syndrome, David Stein, PsyD, Nicole Baumer MD, MEd, Emily Jean Davidson, MD, MPH, Walter E. Kaufmann, MD, The Down Syndrome Program at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr Baumer is a LEND fellow this year. In addition Dr David Stein, a former LEND trainee and now LEND faculty presented: Behavior and DS: Applying Neuroscience to Behavior Management. Angela Lombardo, (LEND Family Faculty and Coordinator of the BCH DSP) joined with DSP Program Director Dr. Emily Davidson in presenting: Infants and Toddlers 101: Building Blocks for Health, Developments and Community Connections.
