AUCD Statement on 2012 Election

November 7, 2012

The 2012 election resulted in a victory for President Barack Obama. While several election races are still too close to call, it also appears that the Democrats will retain the majority in the Senate, increasing the number of Democrats by 2, now 55 - 45. The House of Representatives will continue to be led by a Republican majority (234 to 192).

AUCD's Executive Director, George Jesien stated, "AUCD envisions a nation whose high expectations for our citizens with disabilities make possible the fulfillment of academic potential, productive employment in the community, active engagement in civic life, and full inclusion in society. Our network is looking forward to working with all Members of Congress who share this vision."
