Early Motor Delays May Permit Earlier Identification of Autism

Dr. Rebecca Landa, Director of the Kennedy Krieger Institute Center for Autism and Related Disorders, found an association between early motor delay-persisting head lag at 6 months-and autism. This finding establishes risk before the onset of words and may make earlier identification and intervention possible.
