NCMHD Endowment Program for Increasing Research and Training Capacity in Section 736 Health Professions Schools (NCMHD Research Endowment Fund) (S21 and S22)

Anticipated number of awards:  4-6 new and/or competitive renewal awards.   An applicant institution may request a project period of up to three years and a budget for direct costs of up to $5 million per year that is determined by the use of a formula.

The NCMHD, National Institutes of Health, invites competitive applications from Section 736 Institutions that meet program eligibility requirements. The purpose of this program is to build capacity and research infrastructure and to facilitate minority health research and research regarding other health disparity populations at eligible institutions. The NCMHD intends to commit approximately $16 million in FY 2007 to fund approximately four-six new and/or competitive continuation awards in response to this Invitation to Apply, using the S21 Capacity Building and the S22 Educational award mechanisms.
