Special Hope Foundation Request for Proposals

Submission Date: September 28, 2012

The Special Hope Foundation invites University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDDS) and Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) programs to submit proposals for comprehensive health care activities for adults with developmental disabilities, including youth transitioning from pediatrics to adult healthcare.

The mission of the Special Hope Foundation is to promote the establishment of comprehensive health care for adults with developmental disabilities designed to address their unique and fundamental needs.

The Special Hope Foundation believes that every human being has the right to be treated with dignity. Based on research and input from stakeholder interviews, the existing health care system is substantially deficient with respect to meeting the needs of transition age youth and adults with developmental disabilities.

The foundation plans to award grants of up to $50,000 each for one-year.

Prospective applicants will find the Request for Proposals (RFP) description and online application instructions under the "New Applicants" button along the top of the website.
