The state of Nevada held its first Learn the Signs. Act Early summit on February 24, 2012 at the University of Nevada, Reno. The gathering was organized by Nevada LEND faculty members and their inaugural class of trainees. Attendees represented various regions in the state and a variety of key organizations, including Senator Reid's office, MCHB, state early intervention programs, school district administrators, Nevada autism commission, advocacy groups, and the University of Nevada School of Medicine. They were honored to have presentations provided by Cheryl Rhodes from the CDC and Jennifer Bogin from AUCD.  The team is looking forward to tackling short- and long-term goals, including launching a website, reaching out to rural communities, and targeting system wide change throughout the state. The first short-term goal is to modify the Milestones Moments booklet to include ports of entry for services across the state and a culturally relevant adaptation for the Native American population.
