Today, 33 Representatives signed onto a letter to Denny Rehberg (R-MT), Chair, and Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), Ranking Member, of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor Health & Human Services, and Education. This Letter will help to ensure continued funding for Lifespan Respite Care Act (P.L. 109-442) programs. The Lifespan Respite Care Program is the only federal program to address respite issues for families regardless of age or disability but has remained level-funded at $2.5 million. This letter urges House Appropriators to include $5 million in their bill to support quality respite start-up, training, and coordination.
