September 29, 2011

The University of Hawaii at Manoa Center on Disability Studies, has a project called "Students with Disabilities as Diverse Learners," funded by the U.S. Dept. of Education, Office of Postsecondary Education. As part of this project they have developed Professional Development modules about Universal Design for Learning (UDL); Multiculturalism (Cultural Diversity); and Mentoring, all related to postsecondary education. The modules are available to anyone, via PowerPoint download and html pages, which are screen-reader compatible. The hope is these 2 formats will enable the module to be accessible to, and usable, by everyone. To go to the modules, copy or click the following URL: http://www.ist.hawaii.edu/modules/ At this page, you can both download the Powerpoints and be directed to the html modules. The web address for the overall project, Students with Diverse Learners, is: http://www.ist.hawaii.edu
