James Kerwin, MD, Assistant Professor in the UA Department of Family and Community Medicine and Sonoran UCEDD Faculty lead on health care for adults with DD, has been named interim associate dean for student affairs and admissions at the College of Medicine. Dr. Kerwin was awarded his medical degree at the University of Michigan in 1989. He was a UA College of Medicine faculty member from 1993-1995 and rejoined the faculty in 2001, after several years on staff with Carondelet Health Network. He was among the first faculty members with active roles in the College's ArizonaMed, having joined the curriculum at the outset, in 2006. He is director for the Life Cycle block in the curriculum and served as a mentor in the Societies program from 2006 until recently, when he accepted his new position in student affairs. Dr. Kerwin has led UCEDD efforts to create a medical home model clinic for adults with developmental disabilities.
