The Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD) is a coalition of approximately 100 national disability organizations working together to advocate for national public policy that ensures the self-determination, independence, empowerment, integration and inclusion of children and adults with disabilities in all aspects of society.

On July 12, CCD brought individuals with disabilities and their families from Colorado and North Carolina to Washington, DC, to meet with White House officials in an effort to share the importance of Medicaid programs to families. Kim Musheno, AUCD's Director of Legislative Affairs and co-chair of CCD's Fiscal Policy Task Force, participated in the meeting. Kim submitted this statement urging the Obama Administration to continue its strong support of the Medicaid program during the ongoing federal budget negotiations
