Paul Marchand awarded 2010 AUCD Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award

Paul Marchand of The Arc received the 2010 Distinguished Lifetime Achievment Award today at the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) Conference.

The award is presented to individuals making a lifetime commitment to serving people with developmental disabilities and their families.

From the presentation ceremony:

"Paul is both a nationally recognized expert on disability policy and a mentor to countless early career professionals.  It would be difficult to find any major federal legislation that has transformed the status, opportunity, and support of individuals with developmental disabilities in the United States where Pual was not involved.  In much of this involvement he led the charge for people with disabilities adn their families.  When Paul made a promise, he always delivered. "
