Cary Kreutzer, MPH, RD, Awarded the Distinguished Professional of the Year Award from the Family Resource Center Network of California (USC Childrens Hospital Los Angeles: CA UCEDD/LEND)

Cary Kreutzer, MPH, RD, was awarded the Distinguished Professional of the Year Award from the Family Resource Center Network of California, presented at their annual Institute, March 17, 2010, San Diego, CA. 

The award was presented to Ms. Kreutzer in recognition of her ongoing technical assistance and leadership in the areas of nutrition, telehealth and use of distance technology for training.  The mission of the FRCNCA is to support families of children with disabilities, special healthcare needs, and those at risk by ensuring the continuance, expansion, promotion and quality of family-centered, parent-directed, family resource centers statewide.

Ms. Kreutzer's directs a mulit-state MCHB, HRSA, DHHS grant with UCEDDs in AK, CA, NV and WY working to improve access to care for children with Epilepsy in rural communities, in partnership with the National Epilepsy Foundation and their affiliates.  She also co-directs an NIH Pathways to translational research grant in the area of autism working with the Latino population.  She also directs community education and information dissemination at the USC UCEDD.  Her responsibilities include the development of distance education media (CD-ROM, telehealth/ telemedicine, video), planning/conducting state and national conferences and marketing/dissemination of products.   She taught in the Food and Consumer Sciences Department at California State University Northridge and administratively Co-Directs the Maternal and Child Health Track in the Masters Degree in Public Health Program at University of Southern California.  As a registered dietitian she provides nutrition services and consultation as a UCEDD faculty nutritionist.
