Shea Obremski awarded 2009 Anne Rudigier Award

Shea Obremski of the Kansas University Center for Excellenec in Developmental Disabilities received the 2009 Anne Rudigier Award today at the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) Annual Meeting and Conference.

The award is presented by the Rudigier Family to commemorate the accomplishments and commitment of their daughter Anne, this award recognizes an outstanding student demonstrating a commitment to supporting people with developmental disabilities and their families.

Shea has been a trainee at both the Kansas and Rhode Island UCEDDs. Here dedication and commitment stems from her close relationship with her younger brother Coley, who has multiple disabilities. Her unwavering determination to improve the quality of Coley's life has led her to pursue undergraduate and graduate training in psychology and special education and to gain expertise in areas of customized employment and self-determination.
