Patricia Cloppert (OH UCEDD/LEND) Receives the Excellence in Community Health Education Individual Award

Patricia Cloppert, Nisonger Center Parent Representative, has been selected as one of the winners of the Excellence in Community Health Education Individual Awards. Pat was honored at a ceremony at The Ohio State University Medical Center on October 29th for her continued efforts to provide exceptional educational services to families with children who are newly diagnosed with autism. The Advisory Committee was particularly impressed with her perseverance to coordinate all of the health care, school and MR/DD systems to obtain services for these children. They also thanked Pat for being an empowering advocate by representing their needs on the state planning boards, county family court boards and participating when needed in the legislative meetings on behalf of those affected by autism. Pat has served as president of the Governing Board of the Ohio Coalition for the Education of Children with Disabilities and president of the Central Ohio Chapter of the Autism Society of America, a regional organization Pat represents on the Executive and Governing Boards of the Ohio Coalition.
