Sarah Rule awarded 2008 Outstanding Achievement Award

Sarah Rule, PhD, of the Center for Persons with Disabilities, Utah State University received the 2008 Outstanding Achievement Award at the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) Annual Meeting and Conference.

Sarah Rule, PhD, of the Center for Persons with Disabilities, Utah State University received the 2008 Outstanding Achievement Award at the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) Annual Meeting and Conference.

The award is recognizes a UCEDD, LEND, or IDDRC executive, faculty, or staff member who has demonstrated excellence in three major areas of the field -teaching, scholarship, and service to the wider community.

Wrote her nominator, "For nearly four decades, Dr. Rule has excelled in a distinguished career focused on meeting the needs of children, youth and adults with disabilities, and their families.  She began her prestigious career at a time when the disability movement was just beginning.  During the past several decades, Sarah has taken on many national leadership assignments, however the contributions that distinguish her most are those made locally. Owing to her professional abilities, tenacity, and intellect, she has been a pioneer in the development of policies and practices that assist individuals with disabilities and their families."
