Hill Walker awarded 2008 Distinguished Achievement Award

Hill Walker, PhD, of the Center on Human Development, University of Oregon, recieved the 2008 Distinguished Achievement Award today at the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) Annual Meeting and Conference.

Hill Walker, PhD, of the Center on Human Development, University of Oregon, recieved the 2008 Distinguished Achievement Award today at the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) Annual Meeting and Conference.

The award is the highest accolade presented by AUCD and is given to individuals or organizations making distinguished lifetime contributions to people with developmental disabilities and their families.

Wrote his nominator, "As a professor of Special Education, his work has focused on building a body of literature for supporting individuals with disabilities at great risk in our nation's communities and schools. Many of our national leaders, including UCEDD Directors, have been educated at the Center on Human Development and most, if not all, of our leaders have greatly benefitted from Hill's work. Even with all the above significant accomplishments, the most notable professional attribute of Hill is as a leader and a colleague."
