Support of Competitive Research (SCORE)

The SCORE Program is a developmental program designed to increase the research competitiveness of faculty at minority-serving institutions (MSIs), and the research capabilities of MSIs.

  • SCORE Institutional Development Award (S06): Anticipated awards: 25-30 new and renewal S06 awards, ranging between $50,000 to $100,000 maximum direct costs per year.
  • SCORE Research Advancement Award (SC1): Anticipated awards: 30-35 awards, ranging between $125,000 to $250,000 maximum direct costs per year.
  • SCORE Pilot Project Award (SC2): Anticipated awards: 25-30 awards; may not exceed $225,000 (direct costs) for the entire length of the award which may be one to three years maximum.
  • SCORE Research Continuance Award (SC3): Anticipated awards: 40-50 awards, ranging between $50,000 to $75,000 maximum direct costs per year.
