Funding: NIMH intends to commit approximately $300,000 in FY 2008 to fund up to 8 awards in response to this FOA. The NIDA intends to commit approximately $200,000 to fund up to 5 awards. NIAAA intends to commit approximately $100,000 to fund up to 3 awards. OBSSR intends to commit approximately $50,000.

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to support curriculum development to train clinician-scientists who can develop, test, and rapidly translate into practice innovative learning-based treatments in the addictive and mental disorders. The goals in establishing the Programs of Excellence Award are to recognize and enhance current clinical training programs that teach and develop research-based clinical practices and to provide a model for clinician education nationwide.
