October is Disability Awareness Month. Learn how CDC/NCBDDD is celebrating and how you can participate

October 3, 2007

In recognition of Disability Awareness Month, CDC would like to encourage everyone to learn more about what is being done to promote the health and well-being among people of all ages with disabilities.  The National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD) has several items planned this month to increase awareness of disability issues:

  • An E-card on "October is Disability Awareness Month," is being developed and will be shared soon.  The E-card will direct users to the spotlight feature
  • "Notice to Readers" on Disability Awareness Month in the October 5, 2007, issue of the MMWR
