The Department of Education has issued final regulations to implement provisions of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) that concern school accountability, data reporting and state plans. This fact sheet provides information about the regulations and new requirements that states must fulfill. The Department plans to release guidance on data reporting, school accountability and state plans in the following weeks and will host multiple webinars to inform states and education during the transition to the new administration.
