December 15, 2015

Authors Lauren M. Hubner, MD MPH, Heidi M. Feldman, MD PhD, and Lynne C. Huffman, MD, from the Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics Program at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford are pleased to announce that their manuscript entitled: "Parent-reported Shared Decision Making: Autism Spectrum Disorder and Other Neurodevelopmental Disorders" has been accepted for publication in Journal of Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics (JDBP).

The article highlights the secondary data analysis of the 2009-2010 National Survey of Children with Special Health Care Needs exploring parent-report of shared decision making with their child's healthcare provider. The study focused on the perceptions of parents of children with autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, or cerebral palsy. The authors examined differences in shared decision making based on diagnostic group, as well as other factors, including the presence or absence of a medical home and level of functional impairment. Please look for the article in an upcoming edition of JDBP.
